I have but it's been a while. I don't expect next.js to be portable, it's specially designed to deliver an experience that only Vercel can provide without a billion bugs. There's always a time and a place for Vercel / Next.js, it's not all bad. That DX can be great for someone moving from front end to full stack. IMO it's good to keep learning and not let it be a crutch. It's one of the reasons I'm working on bhvr.dev, as a way to build apps that don't have vendor lock-in. You can deploy the client and server in so many different places and it can be just as easy as next.
