In my saga for finding an Arc alternative

Vivaldi is dope, rides like a spaceship 
Zen is straight up an Arc clone and is... ok? 
Firefox meh 

I think one of my biggest struggles is that Arc put me in a mentality of running most of my apps as web apps and reducing the number of electron apps running on my computer. Examples include Spotify, Slack, Mail, etc. 

However that approach seriously feels unattainable with other browsers. I might have to cut my losses and use Safari or something lightweight for browsers then run more electron apps locally 

Seriously will never forgive The Browser Company ditching an incredible piece of software over the AI hype train.

Yet another update

I've been sticking with Safari but using local apps vs web apps for my daily use stuff

- Notion Suite 
- Slack
- Discord
- Spotify

All of these I used to use within Arc, where it made navigating between them all pretty seamless. Now that they're all apps I decided to use Raycast to assign hotkeys to all of them. 

- Mail: ⌥m
- Calendar: ⌥c
- Notion: ⌥n
- Safari: ⌥s
- Terminal (already had this one): ⌥j
- Slack: ⌥h 
- Zed: ⌥k 

So far this has been working really well and I actually enjoy the flow. Now my web browsing is limited to Warpcast, GitHub, and a few other sites I don't visit often.

Hoping Rainbow lets me in their safari beta or releases to the public. Until then I'm stuck using my phone :(

what about wallets on safari?

i actually really liked using safari for a while. it was running so smooth and fast afair

It was giving horrible issues with testing mini apps I was building, also weird freezing / input issues. I also can see the light at the end of the tunnel so figured it was time :(

was arc actively bad for you or is this in anticipation?

I wish I can just use safari but I find that a lot web apps don’t work well with it and am stuck with chrome 🥲
