Saw this clip from Girls on the Bus and it really stuck with me. The statement that our work is the first line of our obituary and our family is the last...oof. It reminds me of when Olivia Newton John died, and everyone was waiting for a statement from John Travolta. No one cared what her family had to say because they didn't know her family. But her onscreen relationship - her work - resonated with people. I guess the real question is: who do we want to remember us? Ah, good one. But I don't understand the "shh" sound for some su- words! For "schedule" (and "school"), my guess is that English speakers didn't want to pronounce the back-of-the-throat "sch" sound of German, so they made it a cute "k" sound

💯 i'd say that's the hardest part, in addition to nailing the tone of voice. so much of what AIs produce (in terms of tweets at least) sounds the same: 3-sentence posts that follow 1 of 5 formulas. as a result, everyone sounds the same to appease the algorithms. i'd like to build something better

Do it every year if you can. My parents wrote me letters (almost) every year, sometimes about our family, sometimes about current events. My mom wrote me a letter about Rwanda and how angry she was with Clinton. My dad wrote me a letter about deciding to join a startup in '96. So cool to read.
