farcaster clients should locally replicate all of the logged in user's messages and sync it to icloud so that if they don't pay for storage and their data gets pruned the app can just prompt them to pay and republish all their data from the backup

Data loss is a violation of user trust. Local backup is so much more than nice‑to‑have—it’s a essential trust feature. I learned the hard way when my early FC Intrepid‑day photo puns vanished. We need the ability to keep our own archive so we can republish in one tap. (Or some sort of other native and easy way to auto-renew backup function. Some way of making sure data loss is highly improbable. I didn’t even know where the data and storage tab was on FC before it was pointed out to me.) Big thanks to @stephancill for surfacing this to the farcaster community.

We could easily do this with SwiftData. It syncs automatically to iCloud for free. Good idea.

This is a great idea. A dont like the thought of the (imo significant) history happening here suddenly disappearing.
