Genuine question: What is the average Joe using LLMs for today?

Haven’t found it to be very useful outside of coding but i must be missing something if cutting edge AI models keep topping the App Store charts

My dad's name is Joe, and he mentioned out of the blue how he loves the gemini summaries at the top of his google searches. Esp when it's a "how to do something" search

I use AI quite a lot for researching and actively recommend it to ANYONE who is having trouble diagnosing or working through a medical issue

this is the type of response i'm looking for, thanks for sharing! for the record i don't doubt that there are a ton of use cases for the tech

i guess the reason i asked the question is because i don't see evidence in the real world among friends and family that explains why whenever a new model is released (e.g. grok/deepseek) its app goes to the top of the charts. maybe it just doesn't take that many downloads to achieve

Yes it’s a good question about app download leadership. 

I don’t have a sense of the scale of these things. I’m always excited when I see people embracing it instead of afraid of it. So much value in these tools, it’s insane
