It’s 10x easier (still hard) to build a Warpcast level FC client than it was 4 years ago

- Farcaster exists
- Hubs exists
- SIWF exists
- Neynar exists
- 10s of thousands of potential daily users exist plus more people onboarding all the time

Building @warpcast and @farcaster, new dad, like making food

It’s not hard at all to build a simple client for 100 users if you use neynar (my lukewarm take is that it’s actually easy)

Warpcast level i.e. performant real-time algo feed, Apple Pay onboarding, cross platform, direct messages, warps, polish, etc) is too much for hobbyists imo and ROI is unclear for companies

Being able to easily build a social app for a hundred users on top of farcaster is a great achievement btw

the new channels design could be a nice tailwind for this

if you only have to index a tiny slice of the network and can serve a simple reverse chron feed you can build a quality client while avoiding some big challenges
