Depends on day and my mood, I tend to lean optimistic because we have so many tools now that could be used for good and create an incredible future but those same tools can also be used for evil.

Good question, we (as in humans) have consistently shown that we are fucked in the head. So I am not optimistic at all and I think we are at a tipping point because we can't get our shit together in order solve any issues.

Here! I am optimistic because I've always believed we'll come out the other side of the Singularity in the long run and technology will save us. I'm pessimistic because I don't know I will live long enough to see that future, and there are so many greedy people who want to hold on to power that may destroy us first.
