"The Stakers Union and our members get this" did you... ask the members? issuance is going down regardless of whether or not there's a change to the curve. Proposals rn are literally in service of trying to keep the validator set healthy, and it's all in brainstorming stages.

There was no argument against reducing issuance. Merely a proposal to augment rewards out-of-protocol to support solo-stakers.

While efforts of LST protocols like Lido and their Community Staking Module should be applauded - ultimately these efforts still contribute to their dominance and unhealthy centralization. "Vanilla" solo-stakers like our members are still the most protective variety by distributing across jurisdictions, clients, hardware, networks and more - a Swiss Cheese defense model for Ethereum.
