"The Stakers Union and our members get this" did you... ask the members? issuance is going down regardless of whether or not there's a change to the curve. Proposals rn are literally in service of trying to keep the validator set healthy, and it's all in brainstorming stages.

There was no argument against reducing issuance. Merely a proposal to augment rewards out-of-protocol to support solo-stakers.
