Why has there barely any innovation or new approaches to kids playground design? Its always the same setup wherever you go

I think it’s because of city’s parks and recreation departments aren’t prioritized so there’s not a lot of room to innovate. For example, a city like Fresno Ca has their parc funds appropriated by the police department so doing the basics is hard enough
