dumb question... does the tarrif sitch count as a black swan event or is it more of a storm thats been brewing so it's not as black swany

I’d say the latter because this administration has been very vocal on their intents and were just seeing the result of their actions. From what I understand of black swans is that they’re totally unforeseen events like Covid or 08 housing crisis

Agreed. Too many wide spread problems are caused by a small group of powerful people making decisions that are focused on selfish goals :/

I would say the 08 crisis would not have necessarily been unforeseen if the right people paid attention/ethics & morality were used with discernment. Seems somewhat similar in that sense to the problem we're seeing today.
