I know, right. I have total apathy towards all of this. Or maybe the better way to say is I hate everyone involved. The techies unwilling to even try to persuade anyone why this is good and just doing what they want, the crunchies reflexively hating on all tech and human intervention. Everyone sucks.

We need to let go of striving for what is or is not natural. But what does targets does that leave us with for stewarding the land?

Beautiful, healthy, diverse, thriving might each be a good starting point.

Agreed. Also, the impetus to consider what humans do as "unnatural" "synthetic" or "artificial" ignores a pretty basic fact, that we are a part of Nature, that all we do is a part of incomprehensibly large feedback systems and thinking we are outside of them creates a lot of problems. Unless of course we are Gods and what we do is Supernatural in some way, somehow.
