Can someone tell me what the creator economy is on Ethereum apart from just minting NFTās or tokens that you can sell your fans? Like, is there any kind of interesting unique business model thatās not a convoluted weird way of just saying āhey please buy my art on chain, even though you couldāve just watched it for free, as a way of supporting me or speculating on the priceā ? Sincere question Iām not saying that thatās totally unvaluable. Platforms like Patreon are successful, but I kind of hope thereās a more interesting business model that either hasnāt been thought of yet or that I havenāt heard of.

what option are you envisioning that is not "people spend money to support artists"? some types of creators can get corporate sponsorships but those are usually only viable if you already have an audience

Well, I have a couple of ideas, but Iām really hoping thereās something someone else is building. That is both. 1) only possible on crypto and 2) provides real tangible positive sum value beyond speculating on something or effectively donating to āownā something that by owning doesnāt actually get you any real tangible benefits. I can imagine something on farcaster, for example, where you can pay a creator a set fee to get a response from that creator to a question (video or text response). What would make it unique to crypto compared to cameo for example is there could be a very simple oracle process where using economic games you could incentivize people to vote on whether or not a response satisfies the request and hold the money in escrow until majority vote says it does. This would make responses higher quality than on cameo or just donating to a streamer or whatever. And considering itās on L2 eth rails could be extremely cheap To run (camera takes 25% fee)
