On January 25th, over 5,000 households are at risk of being made homeless due to FEMA's decision to end their Transitional Sheltering Assistance (TSA) program. Two days ago many of these people were already kicked out even though the vast majority of those in the program have nowhere to go and it’s freezing outside.

I’ve fallen deep into the home automation rabbit hole the past few weeks. Some things I’ve set up: - lights turn on when entering a room (via motion detectors) and off when exiting - adaptive lighting adjusts light brightness/color based on time of day - home security arms & all electronics turn off when asleep, based on iPhone focus mode/charging/time of day Home Assistant is extremely powerful (but rocky UX at times)

Why do a handful of random, rich men get to control how the world communicates? In case you missed it – Mark Zuckerberg unilaterally eliminated fact-checking from Meta. These platforms should be publicly regulated – not at the whims of a few rich men & their political agenda.
