just bought a lot more sol

had fomo. love using solana. 

but long term… i still don’t really understand why solana is better than a mature ethereum L2

In my mind it's simple - multiple L2s fracture the liquidity and add friction into crypto where as a singular high performance chain doesn't. Bridges suck. Switching metamask sucks. Also with L2 everyone is recreating each other's work on the other L2  instead of innovating so it's diluting solidity dev talent as well

Why would I want to wait/depend on a "shared prover" coming someday when there is better tech that is scalable without all of the wonkery?

some of those problems have solutions. example: liquidity won’t be fractured with a shared prover between chains.

- cross-L2 communication protocols and liquidity aggregation platforms enable more seamless asset transfers and interactions across different L2s
- bad UX: an area that definitely needs improvements
- "duplication": fosters a competitive where different approaches are tested and optimized
