In my mind it's simple - multiple L2s fracture the liquidity and add friction into crypto where as a singular high performance chain doesn't. Bridges suck. Switching metamask sucks. Also with L2 everyone is recreating each other's work on the other L2 instead of innovating so it's diluting solidity dev talent as well

- cross-L2 communication protocols and liquidity aggregation platforms enable more seamless asset transfers and interactions across different L2s - bad UX: an area that definitely needs improvements - "duplication": fosters a competitive where different approaches are tested and optimized

what are the examples of your first point? is it being built right now? i feel the game changer would be the eigen protocol, that basically allows the ETH security to be shared to any dapps on top of it, this also allows for a particular dapp just to concentrate for execution (means high througput and parallelism)
