People don’t want to see uninteresting replies and casts. Best way to solve for that is weight historical inbound engagement for a user, i.e. PageRank-like score for every user. Disproportionally hurts new accounts. Making it harder to get started.

old FICO credit score for new users: "Start with 850 points, the theoretical maximum score. Everything is downhill from here." inspired by that, new users would have a 'max reply score' initially, which drops exponentially fast after a few interactions. existing users would only be annoyed for a short period
