I've been editing and combining old geocities gifs. Here's one made from 5 archived gifs (attached in the comments)

Brilliant. How do you smooth out the difference in pixel size? Iβd have expected that sky to look way blockier for one.

Thanks! I donβt smooth out anything or upscale anything. They are all at various resolutions to begin with, and in the case of the sky, it was much higher resolution than the other parts. However I do make other types of changes (for example, removing the lightning when the chain melts). And I change the frame rates and timing a lot

Yeah, spotted the timing change. Probably spent way too long looking at it tbf. Real fun to study - as one who's only ever made a single animated gif. Cool that you get to keep so much of the assets as they are.

I feel the same! Part of whatβs really fun about it for me, is spending a lot of time looking closely at each frame, and noticing every small detail and quirk Also, I often find multiple variations of the same gif. And itβs fun to see how the gif evolved with changes made by each person π In fact, Iβm just now noticing that I attached the wrong version of the woman! Hereβs the version I actually used, with the red around the perimeter
