Reading is probably listed among slow hobbies, as it moves us out of the instant gratification loop. Found this video spoke about much more than just that, to a need to remove ourselves from the constant distractions, and the ability to just say no https://youtu.be/A3wJcF0t0bQ?si=WrU0O4QV79lO3Nq8

β€œLet’s face it… the act of reading is really boring.” Boredom is one of the most valuable teachers in all of life. In fact, I have a day off tomorrow and planning the best way to do bored. Any ideas?

I'm afraid I don't find most reading very boring. ^^ But there's probably a bit of training to start finding more satisfaction and excitement in these slow, less instantly gratifying activities. Boredom exercises... I think there was an exercise where you just put rice grains out in a long row or something. For a looong time. Not sure where I read it but some essay about boredom. It's cheap and easy to try.
