The saddest scariest part to me about this movement in media is how many people are going to want to see themselves in the movie or in the games.. How many people are going to opt into seeing themselves as the heroes of all the adventures they take instead of seeing other humans like we all once had before.

Yes, but not sure it’s so bad. I think we’ll still see plenty of trad games where you embody the fantasy character. That’s too fun. A chance to be someone else (and grow empathy). But your ‘representation’ point was my line of thinking to prompt the ask. An easy win for publishers to be authentically inclusiv

Your point is valid and something to ponder certainly, I was really only fearmongering the extreme case that this trend really further deepens the narcissistic chasm we have witnessed engulf so many aspects of culture in our time.
