Great post on how PG lock behavior during schema changes. It's surprising (but obvious in hindsight) how a statement that obtains a lock which doesn't conflict with a schema change could still be blocked by another statement that does obtain a blocking lock, due to the FIFO nature of the lock queue. https://xata.io/blog/migrations-and-exclusive-locks

Samsung Corporation will significantly reduce the number of flagship smartphones in its main line. This was reported by Android Headlines. According to sources, the company intends to abandon the Galaxy S25+, a smartphone with a larger screen diagonal. Thus, the series of phones planned for early 2025 will include only two devices - Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra. The reason why Samsung will reduce the number of flagships it produces is not disclosed. However, media journalists believe that the company is unhappy with the sales of devices with a large display diagonal.

The Chinese Tianlong-3 (Heavenly Dragon-3) launch vehicle crashed during testing in Gongyi city, Henan province. This was reported by Sohu.😯 😟 Tianlong-3 was created by the Chinese private company Space Pioneer as an analogue of the American Falcon 9 rocket. The Chinese carrier is a two-stage rocket with a reusable first stage. Rocket engines use a mixture of liquid oxygen and kerosene as fuel. It is designed to launch 17 tons of payload into low Earth orbit. It was previously reported that for the first launch and mass production of Tianlong-3, the company received more than 207 million dollars (about 17.7 million rubles) from at least 15 investors.
