what should i write about during the hackathon tomorrow?

I have decided my topic. I will attempt to answer the question, “Why should/would you collect a free open edition NFT?”

I believe the answer here is not clear. In fact I do not really know the answer myself. Hopefully in the process of interrogation I will arrive at some system of reasoning

My response is asking someone why they'd collect this is like asking why someone would buy a tshirt.

They buy it because they think its cool and they identify with it and the status it brings.

I just don't think as a society we value digital goods as status symbols at scale yet.

looking forward to it. so much hinges on the right answer
