How do you decide which chain to build on?

Base is definitely the "go-to" nowadays, but why? It's not TVL because Arbitrum has a lot more and Base was the preferred long before it got to #2 in TVL. Users? Maybe but I don't see many solid stats backing that.

From my POV, it feels like its just vibes? But why? Doesn't it make more sense to do a thoughtful analysis of which chain is ideal for an app's needs?

Base helps the most, or appears to help the most, with distribution

Jesse + the brand accounts posting about your project on socials

Also fairly deep grant funding, not to mention superchain grant funding in general

And if using farcaster as gtm, its a feedback loop where most people here have funds on base but not arb, so more apps will deploy to base to access these users, so on
