Chinese researchers have cracked AES encryption #AES #crypto #hacking A group of researchers led by Wang Chao from Shanghai University announced the successful hacking of cryptographic algorithms using the D-Wave Systems quantum computer. The basis for the attack was mathematical methods developed by scientists. They were able to crack the Present, Gift-64 and Rectangle algorithms that underlie AES, although specific keys and passwords have not yet been obtained. This achievement reinforces concerns about the threat of quantum computers to modern cryptographic systems, which could affect the global financial system, state security and military operations.
