Chinese researchers have cracked AES encryption

A group of researchers led by Wang Chao from Shanghai University announced the successful hacking of cryptographic algorithms using the D-Wave Systems quantum computer. The basis for the attack was mathematical methods developed by scientists. They were able to crack the Present, Gift-64 and Rectangle algorithms that underlie AES, although specific keys and passwords have not yet been obtained.
