What are some of your hacks to retain more information from a book you're reading? I've started underlining important sentences and plan on skimming the book after I finish it to reread those.

synthesize it to my partner. They inevitably stump me w/ a good question and then that sticks w/ me when I return to reading the info.

write stuff down in your own words, ideally on physical material. helps retention a ton. Also spaced repetition

Sometimes audiobooks simultaneously. Even do it for articles too. Feels like a read-along

I’m going to copy this - great idea For me currently, I spend about 5 min thinking through how I could have applied a lesson/approach to something else I already did that day. Or consciously think through how I am apply it to the rest of my day. Helps me implant the info

I read like a cup of water. Filling myself up 3/4 way or until I feel like I can’t take anymore in. Then I put the book away until the next time I need a drink of water.

Write a few sentence summary every time you pick it up. When done, re summarize that
