Recently saw a couple create a 'marriage council' for themselves. It's like a board for the relationship, acknowledging their marriage in context of their community. This council can, like a board, disband the marriage (among other uses). I thought it really interesting but nearly impossible to google. Long shot, but anyone here know where I can read more?

What's the difference between that and say a religious marriage?

External vonds in strongly cultural and religious marriages interfere through social pressure. Marriage council is more explicit. You're actually giving extended network power.
