Haha, coming from an Eastern European country this was a huge shock to the system when I first found myself in an all American team many years ago At first I thought everything I did was just amazing lol, took some time to realize that the actual message is hidden

Flash forward a bit, now leading teams myself, I think being as direct as possible works best, but you must have a strong culture It only works if when you say "this sucks" ppl know you mean "I love and respect you, but this particular thing sucks"
