If newborn’s bassinet is in your bedroom, how does your partner manage sleep?

Right now we have the bassinet in the baby room and there is also a bed for an adult to sleep there. Whoever is looking after the baby can use that. 

Wondering if we should move the bassinet to our bedroom. We do miss having him by the bed side sometimes

First 2 or 3 months we had crib in our room. I wish we moved it to separate room earlier. We all would have slept better
