I haven't seen much discussion about crypto in a while. Is there much to celebrate besides institutions and billionaires buying our bags?

Big improvements coming to Lens protocol (soon). First looks at a potential consensus layer upgrade to Ethereum L1 (further away). Otherwise as far as I can tell people are just ignoring genocide now to celebrate looming fascism with pump and dump AI coins

How do those two things relate to Leftism? (Or do they at all)

They don't, necessarily. One might argue that any tweaks to blockchain protocols or social networking protocols that make them more decentralized and accessible benefits leftism, as a core tenet is distributed democratic power, but that wasn't the case I was making. I assumed you just posted in the wrong channel as the question didn't read as though it was directed at left excitement about crypto, so much as excitement about crypto in general. To that end, I was bluntly stating that the excitement is overblown, noisy, and will be short-lived as the world is still very much in need of real change, not just more casino fun times.

Not the wrong channel, it's CRYPTOleft after all 😊 I was curious since neither DSA nor PSL orgs accept crypto donations/payments. Then visiting /r/socialism subreddit I see they're, like everywhere else on reddit, vehemently anti-crypto.

Yeah it's still hard to convice people, but I'm hopeful that in the wake of this election, more people will be using tools that subvert US surveillance, censorship, and influence, which necessarily means crypto.
