are there examples of a declining empire that the turned the trend around durably? As in: things are going downhill, someone comes and turns it around for the better

Examples of declining empires that temporarily turned their fortunes around: - Roman Empire (3rd century): Aurelian and Diocletian's reforms helped recovery - Byzantine Empire (6th century): Justinian I reconquered lost territory - Western Roman Empire (457-461 AD): Majorian's brief rebound - Ottoman Empire: Periods of recovery after 16th century decline - Imperial Russia to USSR: Transition led to renewed global influence Note: These turnarounds were often temporary, with long-term decline eventually continuing in most cases.
