Technical analysis is nonsense for stocks because they are valued for the most part on fundamentals by sophisticated participants and institutions. It actually does hold some merit for memecoins because they are fully psychological/social assets, for the most part its only retail trading them, and thus the charts can actually tell a meaningful story

the caveat is there’s intrinsic value in the underlying business dictated or captured by fundamentals what is the intrinsic value of a meme? much more ephemeral and nebulous technicals have merit from a trading perspective in the absence of fundamentals but i’d rather trust the physics over case by case engineering
