very cool. How are IRL check-in's activity recorded? Is there some attestation involved?

As live updating metadata in the nft plus retroactively issued public offchain EAS attestations at the end. Challenge with events is that you don’t want to publicly announce your physical location in realtime, which rules out realtime public. But you lose composability if you issue as private like we did in Denver
