some of it feels dumb eg .eml file format is standard spec/rfc###. 

however some if it won't be surprising if true. same case as whatsapp's e2ee where they "manage your keys" for you. apple is letting you export key but I am seeing so many backdoor and delays in zeroday fixes that I am convinced their "privacy" claims are pretty much marketing for normies, nothing more.

my assumption is that if you make anything digital, someone/somewhere will be accessing it if they needed to without your consent.
