When I started my NFT journey, minting my first NFT in April 2021, there was little doubt that I would start with a wildlife shot. Hawaii has one of the most endangered marine mammals on the planet, the Hawaiian monk seal, with roughy 1600 of them left. For more than a decade, I have done volunteer outreach with these seals on Hawaii’s beaches, and a weekly Monk Seal Monday post to raise awareness of these amazing animals. Mahalo 🤙 That must be such a beautiful photo. I love nature so much that I often find myself watching documentaries, worrying, and even crying alone. It’s heartbreaking that the animals, who are the true stewards of nature, are disappearing. You’re doing such an amazing thing

Well, it’s not all bad news… when I started as a volunteer, we estimated that there were roughly 1100 left. More than ten years later, we now estimate 1600 (and that number has slowly been climbing). So if we take action, we can see some positive change!
