Only followed the live stream but the binius talk was really good with proper concrete benchmarks. Binary fields seem like the way to go for h/acc

One thing that I can’t reconcile is that they mention recursion is cheaper via folding, but then they say that they’ll move to binius for a 5x speedup and you can’t do folding with binius (have to do full recursion)

Do you plan to implement recursion via folding in jolt?

I think you can use babybear with starks/fri. The point of circle starks is to enable use of m31 prime which has very simple modular reduction formula (x mod p = x & p + x >> n). For bb, the best you can do is montgomery reduction

Not sure about docs but this informal session by @zac-aztec in Istanbul was super useful in understanding the tradeoffs https://youtu.be/txncMQN_pNA Then there's also the code which is being implemented here: https://github.com/AztecProtocol/aztec-packages/tree/master/barretenberg/cpp/src/barretenberg/protogalaxy

They’re still relevant in client-side proving. Aztec is using protogalaxy for their rollup

What privacy features would you like to see getting added to on-chain social apps like farcaster? Can aztec (the network) play a role in this?

Found this article. Think it’s called “left edge deletion” and is a type of pro-dropping https://slate.com/human-interest/2016/05/all-your-questions-about-pronoun-deletion-and-the-inexorable-death-of-the-universe-answered.html
