Anyone know why you can’t use BabyBearFFT for FRI? Because if you can then the whole CircleStark thing is pretty meh

I think you can use babybear with starks/fri. The point of circle starks is to enable use of m31 prime which has very simple modular reduction formula (x mod p = x & p + x >> n). For bb, the best you can do is montgomery reduction

Ayush, appreciate you. Question-- do you know roughly how many more operations it takes to do a Montgomery vs m31 modular reduction? Also is that the majority of the 1.3x speed-up compared to BabyBear?
