Best way to go with health care is single payer… not politically feasible, I think give another 4-6 years of healthcare inflation and it will be, matches well with decoupling hc from employment.

And between Medicare and Medicaid once more boomers retire well basically have a whole mess of folks on govt plans anyway.

Might take more than 4-6 years.  Yet it will be discussed, need to address the costs of healthcare.

Here’s my analogy for our current health care system in the US, which greatly neglects primary care

Say I gave you a car today, told you drive that car as much a you like, do whatever maintenance you see fit, then come back to me in 10 years and I’ll keep the car running for you for another decade no matter how you’ve cared for it previously.

That’s what we do in America.  Medicare after a life has been lived, all too often without the necessary maintenance, is a recipe for $$$, not to mention the demographic pressure.

I think despite the inherent issues in single payer systems in other parts of the world, we’ll see the topic honestly debated in the US in my life time, sooner rather than later.
