They have all been big hits with my kids. 

The scooter is a huge unlock if you live in a city because you can start to travel further with your kid without a stroller. 

Magna tiles are just so well made and offer tons of fun for many years. My kids are now older and will still play with them.

If your kid is into insects/pets the butterfly garden is a great activity that lasts for a few days/weeks and has a nice educational component.
