Prediction for today's debate and next steps:

Trump will win by a huge margin, and we will see some of that reflected in the polls. And the longer this campaign will run, the bigger his advantage over Kamala will get.

I'm not American, so my perspective is biased as I won't feel all the consequences of a particular candidate winning. 

I hoped that Kamala would offer something more similar to Obama's program, but it looks like Biden v2, so I can't support that

In a two-party state, one votes for the party one dislikes the least.

And this cannot even begin to resemble a close call — whether you have a vote as a US citizen or you are a concerned citizen watching the dismal democratic process from afar.

This is the thing about being a non-US citizen - I don't follow all your political news.

So e.g., I have no idea what exactly did Trump do to destroy the democratic process. I've heard some soundbites here and there ("Stop the count", some of headlines suggesting he supported guys who invaded Congress) but I never dug in.

Fair enough. I'm a Brit living in the Netherlands with a passing interest in the US elections if only because the result has ramifications beyond the USA.

I find myself concluding that almost everyone I know and have ever known would be more fit to be POTUS than Trump.

Every iota of information about the man.

He's soooo very unqualified, the question should really be — why don't you think that.

Because he has been president for 4 years and the country hasn't collapsed?

That is an incredibly low bar.

I was going to name something lower to make the point, but I'm struggling to do that in fact, which I think makes the point better.

How did the Putin / Poland question go down in your neck of the woods?

We need to upgrade our institutions, but they're innately resistant to change. That's structuration.

It happens to be advantageous in terms of bad actors. One disorganised term is one thing. But a puppet-POTUS + Project2025 is quite another.

I prefer leaders who can string coherent sentences together. Those who aren't misogynists, who aren't racists, and who aren't prolific liars.

Do you think the US was that much worse under Trump than under Biden? If so, by what metrics?

Re: Putin question, I've been aware of Trump's POV here for a long time. I'd rather see him supporting Ukraine, but I also understand his criticism of the EU countries freeriding NATO and not spending enough on defense.
