I still think a lot of people are underestimating how many new users Coinbase is going to bring onchain with Base. I like to think of Base as Coinbase's (better) version of Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and we all know how much activity BSC saw during the bull & how that activity has sustained itself in the bear as well.

I do wonder how this will impact the TVL distribution and by extension defi across L2s. Do you think it will pull a meaningful percentage of assets there to have a vibrant defi ecosystem or do you think it’ll be more consumer facing (with gaming and such)?

I don't think games are going to take off on rollups b/c even though rollups are cheap (and will get much cheaper over time), something like a Validium (where data is stored off-chain) is much cheaper and better suited for gaming. So I think Base is much more likely to have a vibrant DeFi ecosystem than anything else.

Very true point that gaming will thrive going for an ImmutableX validium or Arbitrum Nova vs the OP stack Base flavor of deployment. Related q: with AA and intent-based architectures taking off, doesnt that mean that while Base is the starting point, users wouldnt be as sticky as compared to a BSC which started prior?

I think stickyness is more a function of what there is to do on each chain. A lot of what's on BSC is just copycats/forks of projects on Ethereum and there really isn't much innovation at all - it's a "casino chain". I expect Base to be distinctly different to this with actual innovative apps being built on it.
