Speaking fluent English is such a privilege in the present day. King of languages.

I speak a few other languages but I can’t say any of them are nearly as useful. Persian would’ve been useful 200 years ago but now it’s basically something to impress people at parties.

The fact that almost everyone in Europe seems to speak English has also demotivated me from learning other European languages even though some are beautiful on their own terms. I can understand French I just don’t feel a pressing need to finish studying it.

Being fluent in English does offer many opportunities, especially in an international environment. While other languages can be beautiful and culturally enriching, their practical value may be inferior to English in today's world. Understanding French is already a huge achievement, and you may want to return to it if you find the motivation or interest to learn it further.
