if you think crypto UX is bad, wait till you try sending/receiving a wire transfer it would be hard to conceive of a more opaque, unfriendly, and inefficient system for sending funds

the fact that I can’t use an app to send a wire transfer in the year 2025 blows my mind on a regular basis you must physically present yourself at a bank branch and speak with a teller who is 23 years old

then you’ll be grilled on who and why you’re sending the funds to, you pay $50 and so does the recipient, and you wait 2-5 business days

my absolute favourite part about wire transfers, especially international ones, is that there is no guaranteed path of intermediary banks a wire transfer might take and each intermediary bank can specify their own fee. that's right, there's no way to know upfront how much your fee will be for a wire transfer! really the best system we could possibly design.
