how broken is the legacy financial system?

if you think crypto UX is bad, wait till you try sending/receiving a wire transfer

it would be hard to conceive of a more opaque, unfriendly, and inefficient system for sending funds

figuring out my next thing | marketing, content, growth | prev. Juicebox, Nouns, RAW DAO | casting about coffee, hi-fi, and other rabbit holes

then you’ll be grilled on who and why you’re sending the funds to, you pay $50 and so does the recipient, and you wait 2-5 business days

oh and sometimes they hold the funds on either end for no reason and it actually takes 2 weeks or more

excellent system

the fact that I can’t use an app to send a wire transfer in the year 2025 blows my mind on a regular basis

you must physically present yourself at a bank branch and speak with a teller who is 23 years old

I deal with the canadian banking system on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and can say without any exaggeration that crypto is miles ahead in every way

my closest friends living in guatemala and canada really pilled me on how bad sending money is
