I think this graphic explanation of a Zero Knowledge Proof could be useful. Having a closed door in the middle, Alice could prove the ownership of the key just going from A to B or vice versa with no need to show the key.

I would have been more succinct and describes it to a designer as ZK is like a color swatch book. It proves you have the right color without showing the entire palette or revealing the exact formula to get that colour. It verifies authenticity while maintaining creative confidentiality.
