I'm also a fan of ts but it's a reference to the linked cast about a new kind of encoding that removes the need for source maps.

On server code with bun or deno TS is first class citizen, I don't see any reason to not use TS, as everything is handled internally by the runtime, so if you are using a newer runtime, I don't see why anyone would avoid types.

Plus even in the frontend world, most bundlers are so much better nowadays, the days of writing 2k lines of Webpack configs are over.

Ultimately the biggest reason to used typed JS is because other devs suck, not me!

Yeah next project where I can I’m considering going with just jsdoc for type annotation
