My wooden wicks come as a default 5' but I need them to be 3.1'. Up until now I've been manually cutting them with garden shears, and it makes my hand sore. So I was thinking a saw might be better, but I have concerns that the edges would be too jagged. What do you think?

i suggest a fairly fine toothed hand saw, like one of the japanese ones sold at lee valley (or a knockoff online). https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca/search#q=hand%20saw&t=product-search-tab&sort=relevancy&layout=card&numberOfResults=25 that said, I have a dewalt table saw in the basement, welcome to come use it!

ideally make a little jig where you can stack them and have a pre-cut guide that you just saw through, can probably do dozens at a time. hacksaw could also do in a pinch, if you wanna prototype cheaply.
