it's pretty obvious that the endgame for crypto wallets is an OS-level wallet that gives you apple pay UX but i think the standard pattern will look something like per-app sub accounts that can pull in liquidity from the main wallet and give you embedded wallet ux with easy asset management across all apps

I would bet that Apple already built this but they’re waiting for public opinion on crypto to shift before releasing. Once Google adds something similar, Apple will likely be about 3 years out, ensuring that people actually use it before devoting effort to the rollout marketing

doubt that, every apple employee i know is anti-crypto, at least i know a few pro-crypto people at google. though 3 years out is probably right regardless, nothing like being afraid to lose market position to change one's ideology.

Tim Cook talked about how interesting Bitcoin is on MSNBC like 2 years ago. He ended up mentioning it in a few separate interviews. I really like they’re looking into it already and just trying to assess what’s the right move. Because do they launch their own token? Do they build an L2 in Ethereum, on Solana, on Algorand, etc? Do they build something like Proton Wallet’s email Bitcoin thing? They are going to want to get it right the first time and there’s so many nuances. But I’m sure they’re experimenting internally
