I think you would see broader adoption of this at public places if it was something you could opt into with a setting or app on your phone. Something that turns off your radios when you enter a participating public zone. Otherwise I think this would remain a niche phenomenon relegated to elite, wealthy enclaves. https://warpcast.com/balajis.eth/0x32774821

One of my favorite things about Trump controversies has always been that it teaches everyone a new word at the same time and you get a new crop of experts out of thin air throwing this word around. Current one is "autarky." I'm loving our new autarky experts.

Ok, this is the most compelling explanation I've found. Most of the market drawdown is institutional right now. Retail is staying in. BTC and crypto are largely retail-held assets which is why they have been resilient so far. https://warpcast.com/shantmm/0x843adf9e https://x.com/MacroAlf/status/1908464315788922886

The "digital gold" theory isn't very compelling because gold itself isn't doing well, and also because that really only applies to BTC. Fartcoin isn't digital gold and, yes, Fartcoin is up. https://warpcast.com/shantmm/0x843adf9e

Yeah, it's just hard to accept "digital gold" as a theory when even gold right now isn't being treated like gold.

Does anyone have a good theory for why crypto is weathering this market crash so well?

Affordable homes, church, rural, moderate to high incomes. A good reverse osmosis filter gets all of these out.

Union numbers are pretty small now and those stats account for 401ks, but I agree that a true correction in the market will be devastating to these groups. Especially people close to retirement. They are all in.

People 55 and older own 80 percent of the stock market. The top ten percent own 93 percent of the stock market. I think it's lost on the media and political class that the vast majority of the country just doesn't really care what's happening in the stock market.
