Could you plz say more about the downsides of integrating xmtp for DCs?

I like the XMTP folks and their mission, but right now who do you want to talk to that is active on XMTP?

If we spent time ripping out DCs and integrating XMTP right now, we'd have: 
- Weaker encryption 
- More systemic complexity for clients 
- No material improvement for our users

don’t do it. i don’t want XMTP spam in my farcaster DCs

Where are you still getting spam? All major clients have implemented consent and if you’re still getting spam I’d love to help and know about it

i was using 3num.co and it was full of spam for a few months. not sure if it still is

Ah ha we def got hit by spam but it actually really aligned the entire ecosystem. Not sure about that app but try any of the others and you’ll see. Please share feedback, thanks.
